Audio-Technica S.E.A. recently embarked on a regional seminar tour in November 2024, visiting Singapore, Manila (Philippines), Bangkok (Thailand), and Jakarta (Indonesia). The two-day event in each city attracted an impressive audience, including broadcasters, content creators, system integrators, consultants, rental and staging companies and end-users from the education, hospitality, and corporate sectors.
The “Crafting Compelling Audio Experiences” seminar featured Alexander Lepges, Technical Director at Audio-Technica EMEA, as the keynote speaker. Day One focused on surround sound applications and 3-D sound designing aspects in global sporting events and the role of immersive sound in sports broadcasting. Day Two explored networked audio solutions, wireless applications in commercial spaces, Audio-Technica’s next-generation System 20 Pro, and immersive sound applications in commercial environments.
Alexander Lepges captivated attendees with his in-depth knowledge, engaging presentation style, and approachable demeanour. His sessions were highly interactive, as he welcomed questions and feedback from participants.
Alexander Lepges introduced AT-LINK and its value-added approach to the current installation landscape through the sessions. Also shared was the Audio-Technica double wireless system—Engineered Sound Wireless and System 20 PRO, which took the participants by storm as they offer ultimate flexibility and selection of wireless solutions given the unique features of each wireless system. The presentation of the ATND1061DAN digital microphones and ATDM-0604a also offered a wonderful combination that Alex felt would spark new alternatives for the markets.
Alex also covered the 3000 series wireless, 3000 IEM, and 3000 digital wireless to showcase A-T’s robust and reliable wireless options for rental and staging houses. Lastly, the main topic of surround sound and 3-D sound design came into the picture. The BP3600 immersive microphone took centre stage, allowing the audience to understand the various 3-D workflows for broadcasters, movies and content creators. This was further supported by the close sharing of the recent MotoGP event, where A-T was very much involved, which kept delegates on their toes at the very end.
Beyond the seminars, attendees also had the opportunity to visit a showcase featuring Audio-Technica’s cutting-edge solutions, including the BP3600 immersive microphone, ATND1061 Beamforming Ceiling Microphone, ES954 4-channel Hanging Array Microphone, Smart DSP Mixer, and an extensive line-up of headsets.
Shaokai Teng, Managing Director at Audio-Technica South East Asia, highlighted the seminar’s success in demonstrating the versatility of Audio-Technica’s solutions. “Alexander is an outstanding presenter with unparalleled industry knowledge. He effortlessly connects Audio-Technica’s technologies to real-world projects, explaining challenges and outcomes in an accessible yet informative way,” he said.
Shaokai also emphasized the company’s focus on immersive sound, particularly its relevance to broadcasting and content creation. “We’ve been deeply involved in numerous sporting events and wanted to illustrate how immersive audio elevates content. Content creators always strive to enhance their visuals, and we’re here to help them deliver equally compelling audio experiences for their audiences.”
The roadshow was met with enthusiastic responses across all four cities, leaving Audio-Technica S.E.A. eager to organize similar events soon.
