Gan Ta Loong, Executive Vice President & General Manager at Barco, shared insights on the company’s remarkable performance in Southeast Asia and the broader Asian region during 2022-2023, with SI Asia recently. “Our business revenue reached a historical high for Barco APAC,” he noted. “Several factors contributed to this success. Firstly, our customer-focused approach addresses their pain points. Secondly, the management changes in BARCO SEA/APAC three to four years ago have now yielded significant positive effects, instilling greater confidence among our partners and customers in our team and solutions.”
Staying true to their customer-first philosophy, Barco introduced the ClickShare Bar. Ta Loong explained, “With ClickShare, customers have two options. For IT managers looking for a solution with the easiest installation at a lower TCO, the ClickShare Bar is the go-to solution. When standardizing on AV equipment from our alliance partners or for specific room requirements, ClickShare is ideally combined with a modular peripheral set-up. For either solution, users can enjoy the greatest user experience and all participants will truly be seen and heard.”
Ta Loong also highlighted Barco CTRL, aimed at the Command and Control segment. “The future lies in software and service. Previously, it was about systems and solutions, but now software offers more options and is hardware agnostic. Through Barco we provide videowall options and a comprehensive control room management platform, via Barco CTRL. Again, it’s about giving customers choices. They can opt for a complete Barco setup or select the elements that best suit their needs. It’s always about what fits the customer’s interests best.”
At the recent InfoComm Asia, Barco’s notable new introductions included the I600, Encore3, and QDX 3DLP projectors. “Quarter 4 will be busy,” Ta Loong remarked. “The I600 is our mid-range projector, targeting not only traditional markets but also corporate, higher education, and theme parks. Encore3 is an update of E2, which has served us well. Pre-orders for Encore3 began only after InfoComm USA, and our planned production has already been fulfilled, with a waiting list. We had double the pre-orders, reflecting the industry’s anticipation and enthusiasm for the new generation model.”
Barco is renowned for its high-profile immersive projection projects. Ta Loong emphasized Barco’s commitment to staying ahead of industry trends. “We aim to redefine what an Experience Centre should be. We will champion the full potential of immersive experiences in MNC Executive Briefing Centres to narrate their corporate stories. Currently, we are updating our Experience Centre to showcase these possibilities.”
