Bosch’s Building Technologies (BT) division has inaugurated its first production line in India for fire alarm solutions, introducing the AVENAR fire detector. This milestone event, held on June 18th at the RBAI-Naganathapura plant in Karnataka, underscores Bosch’s commitment to the “Make in India” initiative, aimed at meeting increasing market demand and supporting local customers.
The launch event saw key figures of Bosch establishment in India such as Guruprasad Mudlapur, President Robert Bosch India; Michael Hirsch, Vice-President, Bosch Fire Alarm Systems; Pankaj Dharkar, Presidential Member-FSAI and Chairman–FSAI SURAKSHA INDEX, besides notable guests, industry partners, architects, and professionals. The ceremony featured a ribbon-cutting at the new manufacturing facility, the AVENAR product launch ceremony and a lunch with all participants.
Michael Hirsch emphasized the strategic nature of this move, aligning with market dynamics and Bosch’s business development goals. “India is rapidly emerging as one of our largest global markets, poised to become the largest within two years. Given this growth trajectory, we strongly believe that it’s the right time to manufacture locally,” he stated.
Guruprasad Mudlapur highlighted India’s robust infrastructure growth and the nation’s resilience amid global economic challenges. “The launch of the assembly line for Building Technologies reaffirms our commitment to ‘Make in India‘ and delivering tailored, easily accessible advanced safety solutions for our customers”, he said.
This new chapter for Bosch BT in India aims to produce seven variants of the AVENAR fire detectors, ensuring enhanced safety solutions across various sectors, from healthcare to commercial buildings.
