International Women’s Day, and a great occasion for AVIXA Women’s Council (AWC) to celebrate the joy and empowerment of women across its ranks. With proactive support from industry majors in India and GCC regions, the AWC initiated a joyful and prideful series of programmes, right from 6 March itself, culminating in the grand rejoicing events on 8 March.

A grand celebration of empowerment, camaraderie, and joy unfolded as a total of nearly 100 women professionals in AV from five vibrant locations across India and GCC came together to mark International Women’s Day on 7 March, 2024.
The event, hosted under the auspices of AVIXA Women’s Council, received support from Q-SYS India (Bengaluru), Sennheiser India (New Delhi and Mumbai), Office 2000 (Chennai), and Transcon Solutions (Kolkata). The Council received tremendous support as these companies generously opened their doors to host the event at their respective premises, extending a warm welcome to all women in AV within the cities where the event took place.
Participants engaged in diverse activities throughout the half-day programs spanning multiple locations. It was characterized by motivational speeches by distinguished speakers in leadership positions, stand-up comedy performances, musical acts, and interactive games, culminating in an energetic networking session. For most of the programming, all five venues were interconnected via a virtual meeting, fostering a remarkable celebration.
The gathering served as a reminder of the importance of supporting and uplifting women in their endeavours, both personally and professionally. As the day concluded, attendees left with renewed inspiration and a strengthened sense of community.
Celebrations in GCC
The AVIXA Women’s Council in GCC marked the occasion with a remarkable gathering in Dubai, hosted by NMK Electronics Trading LLC. The event received additional support from Shure EMEA, Bose Professional, and Q-SYS. Bringing together a group of nearly 60 women from the Pro AV industry in the GCC region, the event featured a series of impactful activities.
Kicking off with a thought-provoking panel discussion, attendees engaged in conversations about their personal journeys and experiences. These discussions were dedicated to empowerment, unity building, and the invaluable supportive role played by men in the industry.
Following the panel discussion, participants embraced tranquility and inner strength through guided meditation, breathing exercises, and a Zen Warrior coaching session. This segment served as a heartfelt tribute to the resilience, strength, and accomplishments of women, leaving everyone present feeling empowered and rejuvenated.
Session on Personal Branding
In addition to the in-person celebrations, AVIXA Asia Pacific also organized a session during its quarterly virtual Asia Pacific Member Forum on 6 March. The topic of the keynote presentation was on the Power of Personal Branding, by brand and marketing expert, Jessie Paul.
The session resonated deeply with attendees, who gained valuable insights into the importance of establishing a personal brand in the age of AI. They learned practical techniques and frameworks for crafting and enhancing their personal brands, recognizing the vital role this plays in today’s rapidly evolving landscape.
