Epson has announced the new PU2200 series of three high-brightness projectors that range from 13,000 to 20,000 lumens of equal colour and white brightness. The EB-PU2220B projector is the world’s smallest and lightest 20,000lm projector(1). The PU2200 range of projectors boasts a unique liquid cooling system and a newly optimised structure. Designed to deliver stunning image quality at resolutions that exceed Full HD coupled with 4K enhancement support, EB-PU2220B projector is also constructed to be 64% smaller and more compact than its predecessor, the EB-L20000UNL.
The highly advanced PU2200 series high brightness projectors are built with state-of-the-art technology combined with Epson’s strong track record for visual excellence which allows for the new series of projectors to meet increased consumer needs in education, corporates, museums and visitor attractions.
Advanced Features
The PU2200 series projectors offer an advanced suite of features including scene adaptive gamma correction, 4K enhancement technology and improved optical parts, allowing users to enjoy incredible image quality at high resolutions that can provide a richer texture and more image clarity. Additionally, the optimised compensation plate allows for enhanced native contrasts – dark colours are now truer to life, and brighter scenes will be calibrated to be more balanced in the display. The new model also covers over 92% of RGB, so that images are represented more accurately.
Improved Functions
Other functions include a sophisticated liquid cooling system which cools the optical engines and laser light source units while allowing for a more compact product build and an in-built high-efficiency laser light source with up to 20,000 hours(2) of operation. The improved laser also boasts a footprint that is one-third smaller than a conventional laser bank while still delivering the same amount of brightness as previous models.
Enhanced Flexibility and Reliability
Epson has also designed this series of projectors to be flexible and reliable enough to
withstand the rigours of staging and live exhibitions. Additionally, the new series achieved the IP5X dustproof certification for sealed optical engine and light source module after going through an assessment process by a third-party testing institution.
The PU2200 series projectors also come equipped with a built-in NFC function, which can
give users access to configuration settings more conveniently without the need to power on
the projector at all.
“Epson’s new PU2200 series high brightness projectors aim to deliver the most immersive,
high-quality visual experiences to its viewers while allowing for increased flexibility and a
smaller footprint for ease of transportation and installation,” said Derek Tan, Head of Sales & Marketing, Epson Singapore. “We are proud to have made strides in laser technology that allowed us to bring this product to market.”
The PU2200 series projectors will be available in Singapore starting November 2022. Visit the website or contact your nearest Epson Authorised Partners for more information.
Notes:
(1) As of October 2022 availability in the market. Only applicable to EB-PU2220B projector. 20,000lm in accordance with ISO 21118. Main unit without lens.
(2) 20,000H life for laser light source: Approximate time until brightness decreases 50% from first usage. Measured by acceleration test assuming use of 0.04 – 0.20 mg/m3 of particulate matter. Time varies depending on usage conditions and environments. Replacement of parts other than the light source may be required in a shorter period.
