For over two decades, Datumstruct has been the trusted market leader for critical facilities for Ergonomic Console Desking (Redecon), Control Centre Design & Build (CCDB), and Control Centre Technology Integration (CCTI).
The pursuit of a holistic command centre approach has always been the hallmark and passion of Datumstruct since its establishment in 1999.
Datumstruct’s consoles are innovatively designed and crafted with the end users in mind, allowing flexibility and modifications to accommodate business growth without major operational disruptions.
Their console brand REDECON is now part of the holistic solution Datumstruct offers.
Timothy Tay, sales & business development director, CFS division, Datumstruct comments, “We have always been focused on critical facilities solutions. That is our area of expertise. We are also ergonomic consultants. We are ISO certified, which means we have global standards that we adhere to. Our strict compliance and comprehensive approach enable us to serve our key clients confidently. We start with the design and then work backwards to bring in the right technology.”
Bringing in the right technology means ensuring the operator can work comfortably as they spend long hours at their console. “Consoles and monitors need to be the right height; they need to be tidy, and the operators should be able to see the video wall without strain,” says Timothy.
Datumstruct also ensures that the technology they integrate enhances the overall experience for the operators. “We work with premium brands like Barco as we know that quality and reliability is a given,” says Timothy.
Barco, a world leader in visualization solutions, recently launched Barco CTRL (pronounced as Control), an innovative control room software platform. With the Barco CTRL’s launch, the company takes another huge step in making the control room more manageable and secure. This brand-new platform makes sure you get the right information to the right location and at the right time.
At InfoComm Asia, datumstruct had a mock-up of an actual command centre for visitors to experience their ergonomically-designed console and the Barco CTRL solution that they had integrated. Timothy states that the new Barco CTRL allows operators to manage their workstations easily. “With a single keyboard, they can push content around easily.” He further elaborates that three features make the Barco CTRL a stand-out solution. “Simplicity, as in making it simple for the operator to do their job, scalability that enables command centres to expand when needed. This can be done easily with the hardware. With some simple configuration, it’s a plug-and-play system that enables easy scalability of more operator tables and video wall displays. And, of course, Barco CTRL offers the highest level of security.”
On business potential in Southeast Asia, Timothy points to AV going AvoIP, and as such, feels that there is a great opportunity. “Many command centres are still using traditional systems. The future, however, is AvoIP. The advantages are too many to ignore it. We have been going back to old customers to upgrade their solutions. For example, replacing old rear projection cubes with LED and old control system to IP.”
Timothy lets on that Datumstruct’s console REDECON stands for Redefine Conventions, and that is precisely what the company is doing with their holistic approach and expertise.
