Amar Subash, vice president and general manager of APAC and India, Harman Professional, highlighted a solution from their AMX portfolio that was recently launched. In fact, there are two interesting products that were introduced, which the company is very excited about. The first is the Jetpack which is an all-in-one audio and video solution. This is essentially a plug-and-play solution with no programming required, suited for small installations such as classrooms and meeting spaces.
Next up is their AVoIP solution, the AMX SVSI N2600, which is an extension and upgrade of their existing SVSI range. It’s designed to deliver high-quality, low-latency 4K60 4:4:4 streaming, be it for live videos or content presentations in classrooms, meeting spaces and more.
When asked about opportunities in Asia for the AMX solutions, Amar shares, “The education sector in the region is one of our biggest focus areas for these solutions while we are also testing out other sectors and markets to see how it will fare. We’ve done a fair bit of museums, but those require slightly more specific solutions both on the audio and video switching front. So far, besides education, we have seen some very positive use cases, particularly from corporates and workspaces. There is also the hospitality industry which we see as a very promising vertical, especially with hotels, bars, nightclubs and even casinos. Due to the simplicity and versatility of the AMX solution, we’re expecting great traction in Asia for the Jetpack and N2600.”
Looking at the broader picture, Amar highlights that Asia is extremely diverse, and different markets have different stages of evolution. “Some are very evolved and have a good network of system integrators, capable of designing and installing a product or executing projects. Some markets may need a little more help. Thailand, for example, is a very mature market, and in this venue (Queen Sirikit National Convention Center), the audio and video are all high-end installations done by Harman. We’re also starting to see some stadiums come through, and the sporting segment is huge. In Asia, this trend is growing fast, and the signs are encouraging.
