Speaking to SI Asia at their showcase stand at InfoComm Asia 2023, Kent Hoo, senior sales manager of Atlona Asia Pacific, noted the strong performance and results in the Southeast Asia region. According to him, the company has delivered double-digit growth year on year from 2022 in Southeast Asia.
He attributes the performance to a strong network of partners in the region. Showcasing a wide range of audio, display, video, unified communications and collaboration solutions, Atlona is confident about the growth prospects of Thailand and, indeed, Southeast Asia.
In Thailand, the company works with Vichai Trading, an established partner of several years, enabling a strong presence for the company in the country. This mirrors Altona’s performance in Southeast Asia, specifically in Singapore.
Highlighting the latest product from Atlona, Omnistream 2.0, Kent Hoo explained that the Omnistream 2.0 is a One (1) Gigabit solution that enables a picture-in-picture view without an external processor. He explained that the Ominstream 2.0 is a firmware upgrade that “is actually free for all our customers” who already have invested in the Omnistream solution or other audio-visual products from Altona.
In addition, Kent Hoo also spoke about the company’s Omega switches which were being showcased at the trade event. The next-generation Omega switches come with a USB-C input that allows USB and C connectivity to devices for presentations, multi-functional applications and charging. He explained that there has been significant demand for the USB-C input in the market.
Much of the corporate demand is for the Omega series, while the event spaces segment, including auditoriums, is driving the demand for the company’s Avio IP series in the region. In Singapore, for example, Kent Hoo noted that the public sector is increasingly deploying Altona’s solutions for public events and conferences.
Kent Hoo was effusive in his comments about the Infocomm Thailand trade show. “I was pleasantly shocked with the number and quality of visitors attending the event and meeting us here,” commented Kent Hoo.
“I would say the quality of the event is fantastic. Enquiries have been very strong, especially around the Omnistream 2.0 solution, with customers being surprised with the one Gigabit multi-view capabilities without external processor support,” concluded Kent Hoo.
Altona is also collaborating with Sennheiser as a technology partner globally, bringing that engagement to customers in Southeast Asia.
