Janata Bhawan – the Secretarial Complex of Assam – was recently treated with a massive overhaul of its communication systems, completely transforming the otherwise routine audio reinforcement set-up into a sophisticated, cutting-edge conferencing and communication infrastructure. A massive AV integration project in its own right had been executed by the Guwahati-based AV systems integration firm Area27, in association with Belgian audio conferencing major Televic.
SIA makes a snappy account:

Janata Bhawan – the Secretarial Complex of Assam – for one, some story. Having run from renovated tea warehouses for over three decades, the State’s highest administrative seat got its own permanent, fully functional structure only twenty years ago- in 2004, when the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh inaugurated the new Secretarial building.
The Assam State Secretarial Complex, thus formed, continued with the name for another 13 years till when in early 2017, the State Government renamed it as Janata Bhawan, in order to truly resemble its connectivity with people.
It had been operating since then with the existing infrastructure for all communications- understandably with a mountain of challenges.
A complete overhaul of its communication systems had always been a big demand- particularly in recent times, considering the rapidly changing technology milieu and the need to be in sync with it to stay functional.
Due diligence for rebuilding the infrastructure saw the locally based AV systems integrator Area 27 land the mega project, who executed the massive transformation, in association with the Indian arm of Belgian conferencing major Televic Conference.
The client’s requirement was simple but big: sophisticated, advanced technology tailored to the situation, and easy to use and maintain. They needed a solution that would seamlessly integrate cutting-edge technology while adhering to tight deadlines.
It wasn’t a small job though. For, it includes as many as eleven massive conference halls, executive cabins, and media briefing rooms, besides the common areas of public movement.
Area27 relied on its technology partner Televic, and chose the audio major’s D Cerno system- a wired digital discussion system intended for small and medium conferencing environments. The plug-and-play system is known for its flexibility and more for is simple set-up designed to work out of the box.
The D Cerno F-CM (conference mics), D Cerno F-DM (delegate mics) and D Cerno Controller (web interface) that are integral part of the D Cerno architecture make the backbone for efficient communication.
The F-CM and F-DM seamlessly integrate with the cameras by means of Look at Me feature. With a simple press of the button on the microphone, its camera control system springs into action, focusing on the speaker instantly, thereby enhancing the engagement during meetings and ensuring that visual attention aligns with the speaker effortlessly.
While the integrator ingeniously worked out the design and install process, Televic put in its expertise from initial concept discussions to delivering customized solutions that aligned with stringent architectural demands.
