Lilabari – the lovely town in the North Lakhimpur District of Assam – known for its known for its ancient religious society and relics, historic tourist attractions and picturesque locales – now has an additional attraction. The local airport bearing the town’s own name has a Spanish sound embellishment. LDA Audio Tech broke a new ground for its Neo+ PAVA systems at the airport- a first time laurel for the audio major.
……………………………………………………
Situated on the banks of River Brahmaputra with a beautiful and scenic view of the Himalayas, the Lilabari town literally occupies a high place from the eco-tourism standpoint, besides its ancient historicity.
The town has an airport – located some eight kilometres from the town – that plays a key role in regional connectivity, serving both passenger and cargo transportation. Despite being an infrastructure of modest size, its strategic relevance for the development of the Northeast region of the country is reckoned big for obvious reasons.
With a view to better addressing the operational necessities and emergency situations, the airport PAVA systems have been refurbished with LDA Audio Tech, incorporating the NEO+ system with a redundant controller.
This is the first time NEO+ has been deployed at an airport in India as an advanced solution, designed to ensure maximum reliability and operational continuity, and ensuring efficient response to emergency situations.
For this project, the NEO system was upgraded to the new NEO+ by replacing the ETX card, which allows taking advantage of all the benefits of this new generation of systems, including AES67/Dante® IP audio, dual controllers and EN 54 network electronics.
In addition, the hot backup functionality has been implemented in a fully operational airport installation. The configuration included the use of MPS-8Z microphones with event management.
The project also included a complete acoustic analysis using EASE software, ensuring optimal coverage in all areas of the airport. The final installation, which included more than 60 devices including loudspeakers, amplifiers and control panels, underlines LDA’s commitment to providing advanced and customized technological solutions for critical infrastructure projects.
The systems that made the install includeeeeee
- NEO+ main unit with NEO+ Extension 4250
- NEO unit with NEO Extension 4250
- End-of-line devices TFL-2
- Microphones MPS-8Z
- Analogic-digital Ethernet converters ZES-22
- Multisource players RCD-21R
- Surface speakers DS-60TN
- Acoustic projectors PCP-20TN
- Column speakers VTX-60TN
The existing audio architecture that featured NEO had been refurbished with the NEO+ based system by replacing the ETX module. The hot backup functionality has been implemented in a fully operational airport installation.
Further, the MPS-8Z microphones – the high-performance digital paging station for the NEO PA/VA system – have been connected in loop mode for redundancy and advanced event management.
